Abandoned Maine Coon Dobrynya seeks new home in Novosibirsk

In Novosibirsk, a Maine Coon named Dobrynya is being rehomed. A post about finding a home for him appeared on the social network VKontakte.

The cat«s curator, Ekaterina, told NGS that the pet was found on Zatulinka (a district in Novosibirsk). He looks to be 2-3 years old.

«A woman went for a walk with her dog and found him in a box. He was all unkempt, and we had to shave him because the mats were already bloody,» shared Ekaterina. «The cat was emaciated, weighing only six kilograms (13 lb). But it wasn»t obvious at first because of his fur.«

Now Dobrynya weighs over 10 kilograms (22 lb). He is neutered, vaccinated, and tested for viruses. They are looking for calm, adult owners who are willing to be patient.

«At the first foster home, he lunged at a girl when she walked past with a rag. I took him in, and we lived together for a month and a half just wonderfully: he never growled, never bit, let me pet him, allowed me to clean his ears and eyes, and came to sleep at night. But when our son came to visit my husband and me and swung his pants, the cat showed aggression again. So, he was probably beaten with rags, and he is very afraid of that,» emphasized the curator.
