Rostov declares emergency readiness due to bad weather

A state of heightened readiness has been declared for emergency and utility services in Rostov. As reported by the city mayor Alexander Skryabin, a sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected on January 23.
The regime will be in effect from 18:00 on January 22 until 12:00 on January 27. From January 23 to 26, forecasters predict a cold snap: nighttime temperatures could drop to -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit).
Across the region, there will be snow, in some places heavy, wind will intensify, and blizzards and freezing rain will begin. Icy conditions and wet snow accumulation on power lines and trees are also expected. The water level in the Don River will drop to unfavorable levels.
«I urge you to observe safety measures. Plan your routes and methods of movement around the city taking into account weather conditions. Be extremely vigilant and cautious! In emergencies, it is necessary to contact the «112» service,» wrote Alexander Skryabin in his Telegram channel.
