Photographer Captures Winter Fairy Tale in Petrovsky Hamlet

Amateur photographer Irina Golokolenova presented a series of winter shots from Levykinsky Gorodok in the Uryupinsky District of Volgograd Oblast.

The author of the photos says: «Levykinsky Gorodok is called an open-air museum. It includes a complex of exhibition exhibits. For example, a round Cossack house with a yard, a complex with a stockade, dugouts, a hut, and a chapel on the bank of the Kamienka River, reflecting the life of the Khopyor Cossacks. I went for a walk when the frost and sun were truly like from a Pushkin poem.»

The January selection of photos conveys the atmosphere of a winter walk along snow-covered paths, where silence and fresh air combine with picturesque views.

Earlier, photographer Yulia Voropaeva took shots on Izobilnaya Street in the Krasnoarmeysky District of Volgograd at a temperature of -20°C (-4°F). Her works captured frozen plants and snow cover, reminding of the harsh beauty of the Russian winter.
