Flooding begins in Kuban as rivers overflow

Flooding affected parts of Novorossiysk after rivers overflowed due to heavy rains.
In Krasnodar Krai, from January 24 to 26, a storm warning was announced due to heavy rains. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) warned of possible rises in river water levels.
Later, the regional operational headquarters reported that water levels rose in rivers in the hamlet of Gorny and the village of Myskhako in Novorossiysk. According to the city head Andrei Kravchenko, specialists have already conducted clearing operations, and the water has begun to recede. Flooding was recorded «in intracity districts, Tsemdolina, Glebovsky, and Kirillovka.»
In addition, in Gelendzhik, water levels rose significantly in the Mezyby (Divnomorskoye), Dzhanhot (Praskoveyevka), and Yashamba (Vinogradnoye village) rivers. Currently, the water has stopped rising there.
Rivers rose in the Abinsky, Seversky, Krymsky, and Apsheronsky districts, as well as in Tuapse and Goryachy Klyuch. However, without reaching adverse levels.
