15 Fairy-Tale Winter Shots from Yugra Photographers

These images showcase the mystical winter beauty that characterizes the Yugra region.
This winter has brought plenty of frosty surprises to the residents of Yugra. While temperatures haven«t dropped to -50°C (-58°F), and probably won»t, bundling up has been necessary more than once. But what Northerners love about snowy winter is its mesmerizing beauty. When it«s bitterly cold, foggy, and windless, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale.

Photographers from Yugra — Elena Vishnevskaya, Anastasia Rudneva, and Lilia Garipova — have captured this incredible beauty. We«ve collected 15 stunning shots from these professionals for you. Even in the bitter cold, photographers are ready to venture out of town to get the perfect shots.

Previously, we gathered equally beautiful urban winter landscapes. After the noisy New Year holidays, Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, and Khanty-Mansiysk seem frozen under a crust of ice and a snowy blanket. We also showed beautiful shots from winter fishing. See why they head to the water even at -30°C (-22°F).
