Yekaterinburg's Heroes of Russia Street to be built early

In Yekaterinburg, details of the construction of the long-awaited street, which will provide transport connection between the microdistrict near the railway station and Zarechny, have been revealed.

The project for the 1.5-kilometer extension of Heroes of Russia Street was first presented in the summer of 2024. Along with the road, a new tram line is planned. The city mayor has already approved the project, but according to documents, it was part of the General Plan, scheduled until 2045.

Implementation will begin much earlier thanks to two development companies — Sinara-Development and Malysheva, 73. They will handle the development of the territory of the former «Tovarny Dvor» (Goods Yard), where the new highway will pass.

«In partnership with Malysheva, 73, we are designing Heroes of Russia Street and will build it jointly. A new well-developed, good street will appear. The project provides, among other things, for the regulation of transport issues: placement of road signs, application of markings, and measures related to the functioning of public transport,» said Yuri Starkov, commercial director of Sinara-Development.

According to him, design will be completed this year, and at the beginning of next year, the project after passing examination will be sent for approval to the city administration. After that, the exact construction deadlines and estimated cost of work will become known.

Construction of the road section is planned to be carried out in parallel with the first phases of residential complexes on the site of the «Tovarny Dvor». Representatives of Sinara-Development clarify that the entire residential project is designed for ten years, but the street will be built significantly earlier.

«We will implement the project in stages, together with the development of the district, and by the end of the first phases of the residential complex, begin road construction. I think that in the next five-year period, everything should be resolved, and construction work should be completed. All, let»s say, inconvenient moments, we have already passed and now we are approaching specifics: design, construction,« emphasized Yuri Starkov.

The adjacent territory is already being actively developed: nearby, the «Brusniki» project is being implemented, and the company «Atlas Development» has announced a residential complex on the site of the trade base «Strela». These changes are turning the former industrial zone into one of the most promising districts of the city.
