Yaroslavl extends central road closure until summer 2026

In Yaroslavl, restrictions on traffic in the city center have been extended. From 6:00 AM on January 31 until June 1, 2026, movement is prohibited on a section of Maximova Street — from Trefoleva Street to Andropova Street. The corresponding decree was signed by Oleg Vinogradov, first deputy director of the city utilities department of the Yaroslavl mayor«s office.

Recall that Maximova Street in Yaroslavl was closed to traffic on August 25, 2025. Initially, in the decree it was stated that the restrictions would be in effect until November 3. After that, they were extended as work is being carried out on this section.
The work on Maximova Street is part of the first stage of converting Yaroslavl«s center into a pedestrian zone.
According to the reconstruction project, tile and curbs will be laid there, new sidewalks will be made, bicycle parking will be organized, and shrubs and other plants will be planted. The installation of a new decorative fountain with a diameter of two meters is also planned.
