In Volgograd, owners of garages in the garage-building cooperative on Selenginskaya Street are complaining about an impassable obstacle near building No. 7 on Khanpashi Nuradilov Street. According to locals, wastewater from a manhole near the high-rise has melted the ice on the dirt road, resulting in a ditch that even off-road vehicles cannot overcome.

‘Near building No. 7 on Khanpashi Nuradilov Street, the manhole has leaked again. The warm water melted the ice, causing a deep pit that became a real surprise for car owners,’ residents write. ‘In the past 24 hours, about a dozen drivers have “had the luck” to end up in the icy trap. Some are lucky to quickly get help and be pulled out within an hour, while others lose several hours trying to cope on their own.’

In photos sent to the editorial office by V1.RU readers, it is clear that the ditch in the ice has become an impassable obstacle not only for compact city hatchbacks but also for SUVs like the Chevrolet Niva — a huge pickup truck even came to its rescue. However, how long it took to recover the domestic SUV is not specified.

The management company Sigma Yug, which services the building, clarified that the warm water is a sewage leak that they intend to fix within the day.

‘Sewage is leaking there; due to severe frosts, the vacuum truck could not pump out the water,’ commented the management company. ‘All work will be completed today.’

The ditch, obviously, will disappear on its own with the arrival of warm weather.
