Samara Region to Establish Unified Intermunicipal Transport Registry

In Samara Region, it has been proposed to digitize procedures in the passenger transport sector. A new bill was discussed at a meeting of the regional duma«s committee on construction, transport, and roads.
«One of the key changes will be the creation of a unified digital registry. Records confirming the right to operate transport on intermunicipal routes will be entered into it. This will replace the issuance of paper certificates,» the regional duma reported.
The main goal of the amendments is to reduce procedures that affect the uninterrupted cycle of transport. In particular, the review of applications for establishing or changing interregional routes will be reduced from 45 to 16 working days. Data entry into the registry and the official website will take place within one working day instead of seven.
The committee recommended the bill for adoption in two readings at once, and the issue will be included in the agenda of the next plenary session of the duma. If the project is adopted, the new transport organization procedure will come into effect on September 1, 2026.
Another important news regarding public transport: Governor of Samara Region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev announced that by the end of 2026, the region will abandon cash payments for fares.
