Samara Oblast Appears on Moscow Transport Cards

Samara Oblast is becoming closer to Moscow. Representatives from the regional Ministry of Tourism announced this.

This does not refer to a possible annexation of one federal subject by another, but to a campaign to promote the tourism potential of Samara Oblast. Specialists from the Ministry of Tourism, together with colleagues from Moscow«s Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development, have issued new themed »Troika« and »Yediny« (Unified) cards. They feature iconic symbols of the region—the »Ladya« (Boat) monument and the embankment.
«The campaign is aimed at drawing attention to the region and forming a positive image of Samara Oblast among the population of Moscow and other regions of Russia,» explained the Ministry of Tourism.
The «Troika» and «Yediny» cards can be purchased in the Moscow Metro, special vending machines, at «Live Communication» kiosks, and on major online marketplaces.
«Troika» is a contactless smart card. It is topped up via online apps, terminals, or ticket offices. The system offers profitable passes for frequent trips, allowing savings compared to single tickets. Thus, residents of Samara will in the future not only be able to conveniently pay for transport at home, but also feel at home in the Moscow Metro.
Meanwhile, the authorities of Samara city are already considering introducing the «Troika» card in the city. This possibility was raised several months ago by Mayor Ivan Noskov. It is expected to happen as early as 2026.
