As reported by the relevant authority, the path to Ostafyevo D2 station previously passed via an overpass along a busy roadway. As a result, it was unsafe for pedestrians to move around. Moreover, residents of nearby neighborhoods had to take a big detour.
— At Ostafyevo D2 station, up to 5.3 thousand trips are made per day. For us, it was important to make the path to it as clear, short, and comfortable as possible. On the instruction of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are working to improve the accessibility of the rail framework to open new transportation opportunities for passengers, — commented Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
As a result, a new exit to the station was opened closer to residential neighborhoods. A direct and safe path was laid out for pedestrians in a dedicated zone. Additionally, the area around the station was improved — a new road section was built, stops were installed, and a bike path was arranged.
