New street to connect Yekaterinburg station and Zarechny

New details have emerged about the construction of the long-awaited street that will connect the district near the railway station and Zarechny in Yekaterinburg.

Plans for the construction of a new 1.5-kilometer section of Heroes of Russia Street were first discussed in the summer of 2024. A new tram line is also planned to be launched along it. The mayor has already approved the project, but it was developed according to the city«s Master Plan until 2045.

In reality, however, the street will appear much earlier, as E1.RU has learned. Two developers will take on all the work — «Sinara-Development» and «Malysheva, 73», which will handle the development of the territory of the former «Tovarny Dvor» (Goods Yard).

«In partnership with »Malysheva, 73«, we are designing Heroes of Russia Street and will build it jointly. A new well-equipped, good street will appear. The project provides, among other things, for the regulation of transport issues: placement of road signs, application of markings, and measures related to the functioning of public transport,» Yuri Starkov, commercial director of Sinara-Development, told E1.RU.

According to him, design work will be carried out this year, and at the beginning of next year, the project will be coordinated with the city administration after passing the examination. After that, the construction timeline and cost of all works will become clear.

The new road section is planned to be built in parallel with the construction of the first phases of the residential complex on the site of the «Tovarny Dvor». At Sinara-Development, they say that their entire residential complex project is designed for ten years, but the road is planned to be built significantly earlier.

«We will implement the project in stages, along with the development of the district, and by the end of the first phases of the residential complex, start building the road. I think that within the next five years, everything should be resolved, and construction work should be completed. All, let»s say, inconvenient moments, we have already passed and now we are approaching specifics: design, construction,« emphasized Yuri Starkov.

Note that active construction is already underway in the neighborhood of this development zone: nearby there is the «Brusnika» project, and «Atlas Development» has announced the appearance of a residential complex on the site of the «Strela» trade base. All this leads to the former industrial zone becoming one of the most promising microdistricts in the city.
