Multiple tow trucks haul away illegally parked cars in Novosibirsk raid
Many cars are parked on the sidewalk near the Novosibirsk Conservatory, obstructing pedestrian paths.
Today, January 29, Novosibirsk traffic inspectors conducted a parking raid in the city center together with NGS correspondents. Cars left in unauthorized places were towed away.
Several tow trucks were deployed during the parking enforcement operation in central Novosibirsk.

Administrative protocols were drawn up for those who committed violations.
An area near the conservatory lacks effective no-parking signs, leading to informal parking that blocks pedestrians.
Today, cars were towed, including from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory. NGS, in its column «I Park Like a Weirdo», has repeatedly published compilations of rude drivers who violate rules near this building.
A free parking lot with 40 spaces is available to the right of the conservatory building.
In response to an NGS inquiry, the city hall reported that there is currently a free parking lot with 40 spaces to the right of the conservatory building. Additionally, there is a parking lot for residents and staff of the institution on its territory with 12 spaces.
Drivers continue to ignore prohibitory parking signs in the city center despite enforcement efforts.
The Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy of the city hall stated that in 2025, comprehensive improvement works were carried out on the public area between the conservatory building and the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution «City Clinical Polyclinic No. 20».
Since January, over 880 parking violations have been recorded by police in Novosibirsk.
They installed pedestrian paving (including granite tile paving), repaired monuments, provided exterior lighting, and placed small architectural forms. Moreover, they created parking space for visitors of Polyclinic No. 20 from Sovetskaya Street side.
Car owners must now retrieve their vehicles from the impound lot after being towed.
As told to an NGS journalist by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Novosibirsk Region, since the beginning of the year, police have drawn up over 880 administrative cases for parking violations on the city«s roads:
Parking rule violations by drivers are a common occurrence in the central part of Novosibirsk.
«Of these, over 420 were for stopping in areas with prohibitory signs, over 390 for parking on sidewalks, over 30 for parking at public transport stops, and over 20 for parking in spaces designated for persons with disabilities.»
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that parking in unauthorized places not only hinders vehicle traffic but also poses a safety threat to other road users.
Previously, NGS reported that a Porsche Cayenne is often parked on the sidewalk near the Novosibirsk Conservatory.
