Gas stations whose equipment had previously frozen, affecting public transport operations, are now working normally again. Tomsk Mayor Dmitry Makhinya reported this in his Telegram channel.

For several days in Tomsk, the air temperature did not rise above -30°C (-22°F). On social media, residents complained en masse about having to wait at bus stops for 25-30 minutes. The authorities stated that minibus drivers were violating their schedules due to frozen gas filling stations.

«The majority of propane-butane filling stations in Tomsk are operational; methane stations resumed activity yesterday. Now carriers have no objective reasons to violate traffic schedules. The Center for Organization and Control of Passenger Transportation is strictly monitoring carriers» compliance with contract terms,« the statement said.

According to the mayor«s office, since November 1, the Department of Urban Economy has issued 146 claims to carriers totaling 2.9 million rubles (about $32,000 at current rates). Carriers are being fined primarily for schedule disruptions.
