Leonardo Booking System Failure Leads to Mass Flight Delays in Vladivostok

A failure in a booking system temporarily halted airport operations in Russia«s Far East.
Three flights were delayed arriving at Vladivostok International Airport due to a massive failure in the Leonardo ticket booking system. The airlines Aeroflot and Pobeda warned about the system error.
Leonardo is a Russian airline booking system launched in 2022 by Sirena-Travel. Over 60 airlines use the system, and the monthly number of check-ins exceeds 5 million passengers.
The failure occurred around 23:30 Vladivostok time (VLAT), which temporarily limited passenger and baggage check-in, ticket issuance, rebooking, and refunds. Aeroflot announced at the time that departures might be forcibly rescheduled, and passengers could get their money back if they wished.
The system was restored only by 01:00 (VLAT), but delays could not be avoided. Delayed arrivals in Vladivostok included flight U6-571 from Yekaterinburg (until 09:05), as well as SU-1700 and SU-1702 from Moscow (until 09:25 and 12:30).
Problems also arose with departures from the Far Eastern capital. The departure of flight S7-6404 to Irkutsk was postponed until 08:10, and flight U6-572 to Yekaterinburg until 10:15. Flights SU-1701 and SU-1703 to Moscow will depart at 11:30 and 14:35.
On January 12, due to weather conditions at Vladivostok International Airport, 8 flights were knocked off schedule at once. The mass delay attracted the attention of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor«s Office. The department reported that they are monitoring the situation and controlling the observance of passengers» rights.
