In Yaroslavl, the deadlines for closing trolleybus routes No. 4 «Torgovy Pereulok — Fabrika Krasny Pereval» and No. 8 «Ulitsa Volgogradskaya — Torgovy Pereulok» have been moved again. Initially, the electric transport was supposed to stop running in January 2026, and then in February. Now it has been revealed that trolleybuses will continue to operate on their routes for another month.

«The temporary suspension of routes No. 4 and No. 8 will be announced additionally,» said the Ministry of Road Management and Transport of Yaroslavl Oblast.

In response to a query from 76.RU, authorities reported that the two trolleybus routes will be closed in spring. The exact date has not been determined yet.

Authorities cite the start of tram track repairs and the dismantling of the contact network on Oktyabrya Avenue under the tram modernization project, which is being carried out by the concessionaire LLC «Movista Regiony Yaroslavl». During the closure of routes No. 4 and 8, authorities promised to increase the number of trolleybuses on routes No. 3 and 7.

Under the concession agreement, it is planned to completely renew tram tracks, stops, traction substations, and depots in Yaroslavl. Forty-seven low-floor trams have already been purchased.

The reconstruction of tram infrastructure began in the Dzerzhinsky district. A temporary tram loop was built near the TRK «Rio» shopping center so that trams could run along Bragin Street.

Earlier we reported that authorities began searching for carriers for two tram routes in Yaroslavl.
