On January 22, at the House of Books, general manager Sergei Belykh announced that the club is highly likely to remain in St. Petersburg for at least one more season.

According to him, the team continues preparations to move to China, but this process requires time and careful planning. Therefore, the next season will take place in the Russian city.

We will indeed most likely spend the next season in St. Petersburg. We have constant interaction with Chinese partners, but there are factors that cannot be resolved quickly. This is not a matter of one month,

— noted Belykh

Already in March, the Shanghai Dragons plan to hold their first matches in China. These games will be an important test for the project from organizational and sporting perspectives.

The March matches will largely answer key questions. This is a serious test for us from all sides,

— emphasized the general manager

Belykh also added that over the first season, St. Petersburg has become a full-fledged base for the club. The team has received stable support from fans, formed its own audience, and is actively developing its media direction.

A decision on the timeline for the full move to Shanghai will be made after the March matches and additional assessment of all conditions.

The home games of the Shanghai Dragons are held at the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg, while SKA itself plays at the Ice Palace.
