Salavat Yulaev hockey player Yevgeny Kuznetsov still needs time to recover from an injury sustained in a match against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. That game ended with the Ufa club«s 6-2 defeat. According to head coach Viktor Kozlov of the »greens,« Kuznetsov will not return to action soon.
«He is recovering and will miss several weeks. The nature of his injury requires time for treatment and a return to action,» Kozlov explained in an interview with Championat.
In the same conversation, he noted that Yevgeny has proven to be a useful acquisition for the team. In particular, the 33-year-old hockey player helps young players, according to Kozlov.
«Yevgeny did the right things that helped us win,» the coach told Championat.
Kuznetsov joined Salavat Yulaev after he was no longer needed by Magnitogorsk Metallurg. Prior to that, he was out of favor at St. Petersburg SKA. Yevgeny is a former world champion and Stanley Cup winner. Some experts believe his best days are behind him, while others are confident that Kuznetsov has more to offer.
