Investigators Probe Vertebra Fracture at Omsk Fitness Club

The regional investigative committee has launched a probe into an Omsk fitness club. Earlier, in the «Omsk. Trash News» community on VKontakte, information appeared that a 24-year-old woman was injured during a session at the Fitness Plus center in Amur. A trainer was supervising her. Representatives of the fitness club declined to comment on the situation to NGS55.RU correspondent.

According to the author of the post, the specialist failed to monitor the technique of performing an exercise with a barbell. After the training, the woman from Omsk felt pain in her back. The next day, she consulted doctors. She was diagnosed with a fracture of the spinous process of a vertebra.

«A miniature lady, weighing only about 58 kilograms (128 lbs), on her sixth visit, is given the task of working with a 50-kilogram barbell (110 lbs). There is video. Experts, observing how the girl performs the exercise, unanimously state that in the lumbosacral region, there is an improper bend in the back. This, for this type of load, especially with such a giant weight, poses a threat of injury. After the ill-fated training, the girl felt general malaise, sharp pains in her back and coccyx.»

Currently, investigators are ascertaining all the causes and circumstances of the injury.
