Three datsans in the Zabaikalye region will celebrate jubilee dates in 2026—the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. This was announced on 20 January in the Telegram channel of the administration of the Agin-Buryat District.

Specifically, the Tsugol Datsan will mark its 225th anniversary, the Agin Datsan will mark its 215th, and the Zugalai Datsan will solemnly celebrate its 200th anniversary since its founding. The district administration has held a meeting in connection with this.

“These significant anniversaries will take place within the framework of the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. In the current difficult conditions, a special role belongs to our datsans and clergy, who contribute to strengthening national unity and cohesion. Our task is to ensure comprehensive support for the upcoming celebrations,”
the channel quoted Zabaikalye senator Bayyr Zhamsuyev as saying.

District head Ananda Dondokov reported that preparations for the festive events are already underway. Together with the leadership of the datsans, cost estimates have been developed, including building repairs and site improvements, organizing promotional campaigns, and holding religious, cultural, and sporting events.

It is noted that, summing up the meeting, Senator Zhamsuyev asked representatives of the clergy to determine the specific dates for the jubilee celebrations, and instructed executive authorities to develop a detailed roadmap of key events, specifying concrete sources of funding for each.
