Former Harbin Restaurant in Yekaterinburg to Be Demolished

According to the planning project put up for public discussion, the building of the former Chinese restaurant «Harbin» at 38 Kuibyshev Street in Yekaterinburg is slated for demolition.

On its site, plans are to erect a multifunctional public building that will include an underground parking lot.
In addition, as part of the district«s development until 2035, the following will be built:
- a building for an educational institution;
- a facility for scientific activity;
- an office and business building.
The territory of the previously demolished psychiatric hospital will be occupied by a multi-level above-ground parking lot.
The same development zone includes a vacant lot that formed after the dismantling of the unfinished Delhi Hotel in 2021. In the project scheme for this site, no specific objects are indicated, although in the work sequence, it is marked as the second stage.
According to one version, an underground parking garage could be located here.
Recall that several years ago, the former Harbin restaurant was put up for sale for 290 million rubles (approximately $3.2 million at current rates). The establishment opened in 1991 thanks to businessman Konstantin Romanovsky, who also initiated the construction of the Delhi Hotel. Later, due to debts, the property passed to the UBRIR Bank, and then changed owners several times.
