In Ufa, a late 19th-century mill has failed to sell for the second time: no one wanted to buy the huge building on Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street. City authorities announced a new auction at the same price — 76.6 million rubles (approximately $1 million at current rates).

The premises are now empty.

The mill was built in 1886 for merchant Ivan Seldimirov. He managed it only briefly, having to hand it over to the new authorities in the early 20th century. The building found use as workshops for starch and brewing plants, then was transferred to municipal services, and in the 1990s to the state. Around this time, an additional floor was added.

After that, it housed offices, but currently the building stands idle. It has been up for sale since October 2025.

An inspection showed that the cement in the walls has weathered in places, and the foundations are damaged. If the building is sold, the new owner will need to conduct a survey, prepare a repair estimate, and carry out the work in 2027–2028.

Applications are accepted until February 26. The auction will take place on March 3.

As the mayor of Ufa said in December 2025, since 2022 the city has sold 18 cultural heritage sites.

According to 2025 data, since 2022 Ufa authorities have sold 18 cultural heritage sites at auctions starting from 1 ruble. And in 2024, UFA1.RU showed what is happening with some of these buildings.
