St. Petersburg Earns 4.5 Billion Rubles from Non-Residential Property Rental

St. Petersburg authorities reported a rise in income from leasing city property. Last year's revenue reached 4.5 billion rubles (approximately $60 million at current rates).

The Committee for Property Relations of St. Petersburg reported on January 27 that budget income from leasing non-residential premises reached 4.5 billion rubles (approximately $60 million at current rates), which is 11% higher than the previous year.

As of January 1, 2026, more than 6,000 lease agreements had been signed, covering about 1.2 million square meters of city real estate.

Such results were achieved primarily through active work on leasing non-residential stock at auctions,

the department emphasized.

In 2025, lease rights for 440 objects with a total area of 50,000 sq. m were sold at auctions, with an annual payment of 735 million rubles (approximately $9.8 million at current rates). For comparison, 346 objects were transferred in this way in 2024.

Separately, it was noted that small and medium-sized enterprises last year concluded 397 lease agreements for a total amount of 635 thousand rubles (approximately $8,500 at current rates).
