Russia to change rules for child benefits

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced plans to fine-tune the system of unified child benefits. The reason for the changes was an appeal by the Bayazitovs, a large family from Tyumen Region, during Vladimir Putin«s communication with citizens.

As Gulnara Bayazitova, the mother of six children, explained, her family was denied the payment because their per capita income slightly exceeded the regional subsistence minimum.

In response to this situation, the government has agreed on a new rule. The benefit will be granted even if the family«s income is above the subsistence minimum, but by no more than 10%. In such cases, payments will be maintained for 12 months.

In total, two questions came from Tyumen Region during the «Direct Line». In addition to the benefits story, journalist Kristina Smirnova asked the president about comet 3I/ATLAS.
