Putin's Special Envoy Names Key Aspect Hindering Ukraine Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is delaying the peaceful settlement of the conflict. This was stated by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries.
“Zelenskyy«s lecture to Europeans in Davos was unsuccessful. His delay in accepting territorial concessions is holding up the peace process,” Dmitriev wrote on his X social media page during the Ukrainian leader»s speech.
Zelenskyy«s speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos was dedicated to criticizing Europe. He accused it of inaction, lack of independence, and demanded that Western allies increase support for Ukraine.
After that, trilateral talks were held between Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington. Presumably, they discussed terms of a potential peaceful settlement, including security and territorial issues.
Despite all attempts to achieve peace, Zelenskyy stated that he would not give up lands “under any circumstances.” Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov explained that expecting effectiveness from such complex talks would be a mistake. However, no one has refused new meetings. Consultations are scheduled for next week.
