Osipov reveals three personal wishes from his early governorship
Governor Alexander Osipov of Zabaykalsky Krai talked about three desires he had in his first year as head of the region in 2019. He voiced them on January 31 in the settlement of Aginskoye during the report of the Aginsky Buryat Okrug administration on the work done in 2025 and plans for 2026.
“In 2019, in the first year, I had three dreams. The first one is to live in the Aginsk steppe, on a livestock station. Every day on horseback, doing simple, beloved work, especially since I had to do this in childhood. Herding sheep – for me it«s a pleasant pleasure. I can»t convey it to you, everyone probably understands that such a simple life, real, primordial – it is a magnificent therapist, the greatest mentor and philosopher that help you in life. At any rate, I want to note that in cities and especially at high levels of management there are enough neurotics and psychopaths, but among farmers and livestock breeders they are practically impossible to find,” the governor said.
The second desire, according to Osipov, was to buy a motorcycle with a sidecar, put his wife in the sidecar, and put a headscarf and glasses on her: “And we«ll go, »vroom-vroom-vroom-vroom,« 70 kilometers per hour through the villages. And for 10 days on some next vacation, I»ll ride through the villages, look and not do managerial work, but meet with fellow countrymen. But I already gave the motorcycle to the Special Military Operation (SVO) and internally said that, apparently, it won«t work out.”
And the third dream, born in 2019, is a rafting trip from the upper reaches of the Ingoda River with visits to villages.
“But here my wife didn«t support me. Because in my plan, it was to go out to some pools, lonely shores. On a kayak or little boat to float, make breakfast in nature. You float. At lunch or evening, also cook something on a little fire with smoke. Here my wife says: ‘And mosquitoes, and the toilet?’ And somehow with this desire, things are still unstable. Nevertheless, the mood is excellent, the report of the Aginsky Buryat Okrug traditionally pleases me,” the head of the region noted.
