The chairman of the Nadezhdinsky District Duma in Primorsky Krai, Alexander Sitnikov, has submitted a statement on the early termination of his powers. He has held the position since September 2023, and his resignation will be accepted tomorrow, January 28, district deputy Oleg Grigoriev told a VLADIVOSTOK1.RU correspondent.

According to Grigoriev, Sitnikov made this decision himself, which was unexpected news for the district deputies. Moreover, the Duma chairman will also voluntarily give up his deputy mandate.

«For us, this was unexpected; he didn»t just step down as chairman, but also left as a deputy. We must accept his resignation, and the second question is the election of a chairman. There will be many questions, proposals, and I think there will be more than one candidate. The decision will be made by secret ballot,«
clarified Oleg Grigoriev.

The deputy emphasized that there are several reasons for Sitnikov«s departure, but he believes that a significant role was played by the scandal related to the bonus for the head of Nadezhdinsky District Maxim Yakov. Based on work results in 2024, he received a bonus of 1.05 million rubles (approximately $11,700 at current rates) – this is more than the heads of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov and Ussuriysk Yevgeny Korzh combined.

«The situation was indeed scandalous. Then only three deputies voted against: me, Kirill Tikhonov, and Sergei Usoltsev. The others, including Alexander Sitnikov, voted in favor, although in my opinion, there is no reason to award Yakov a bonus,»
reminded Oleg Grigoriev.

VLADIVOSTOK1.RU«s correspondent was unable to obtain a comment from Alexander Sitnikov at the time of publication.
