Kuban prosecutor's candidacy for deputy prosecutor general to be reviewed

The Prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai, Sergei Tabelsky, may move to the position of Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia. The nomination was submitted to the Federation Council by President Vladimir Putin.

Former head of the Komi Republic prosecutor«s office Sergei Bazhutov is also included in the nomination, according to Andrei Klishas, head of the Federation Council»s Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.

The presented candidates will be reviewed on 27 January at 11:30 MSK. Who might take Tabelsky«s place in Krasnodar Krai is unknown.

Who is Sergei Tabelsky?

Tabelsky was born on 23 January 1967 in a village in Orenburg Oblast. In 1993, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Law Institute. From 1992 to 2009, he worked in the Orenburg Oblast prosecutor«s office, progressing from intern and assistant to deputy prosecutor of the region.

From 2009 to 2013, he was the prosecutor of Kalmykia, then until 2017 — of Kaliningrad Oblast. In March 2017, Tabelsky was appointed prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai.

He holds the rank of State Counselor of Justice 2nd Class, is married, and has three children.
