Vasily Kotov, the first deputy minister, has become the new acting deputy chairman of the government of Saratov Oblast and head of the regional ministry of agriculture. The corresponding document on Kotov«s appointment was signed by the governor of Saratov Oblast. This was reported on January 22 by the press service of the Saratov cabinet.
The duties were assigned to Vasily Kotov starting January 22. He was born in the city of Volzhsky, Volgograd Oblast, on March 3, 1984, and is now 41 years old. In 2006, he graduated from the Saratov State Socio-Economic University.
Vasily Kotov worked in the settlement of Rovnoye as the general director of LLC «SPK». He was the deputy head of Rovensky District, and from February 2022, he was appointed acting head of the municipality after the death of the previous leader Gennady Panfilov. In November 2024, Kotov was appointed acting first deputy minister of agriculture of Saratov Oblast and remained in this status until today.
Instead of Kotov, Rovensky District was initially headed by his first deputy Vasily Lelyukhin. But almost immediately, he was replaced by Engels official Anton Bugayev, which caused a negative reaction from the local elite. Vasily Kotov, in turn, replaced Roman Kovalsky, who headed the Saratov Ministry of Agriculture from July 2020 to January 2026. Last week, it became known that he is resigning effective January 19.
