Kommersant: Prosecutor of Bashkortostan May Leave Post

Igor Pantyushin, the prosecutor of the Republic of Bashkortostan, may leave his position in the near future, according to Kommersant-Ufa citing a source. According to the publication, the state adviser may move to the Prosecutor General«s Office and be responsible for citizen appeals there.

Pantyushin became the head of the supervisory agency of the republic in 2021. He has worked in the authorities since 1991, starting his career in the Lipetsk region — where he obtained his first significant posts and by 2003 became the prosecutor of the region. In 2013, he left to head the prosecutor«s office of the Vladimir region, where he served until 2021.

The press service of the prosecutor«s office of Bashkortostan declined to comment on rumors about Pantyushin»s resignation.
