In late January, in Dzerzhinsk, city council deputy Yevgeny Monakhov was detained. An informed source reported this to NN.RU.

So far, there is no exact information on the reason for the man«s detention. Local Telegram channels write that Monakhov was »taken« right in the United Russia public reception office. The deputy is now in a pre-trial detention center.

According to unconfirmed information, the detention may be related to a case about bribing for seats in the city council. Political technologist Mikhail Khaluga and executive secretary Maria Kilina were arrested on suspicion of commercial bribery by prior agreement in the summer of 2025.

NN.RU called the United Russia branch and the Dzerzhinsk city council, but it was not possible to obtain prompt comments on the situation.
