Drozdenko reports to Putin on Leningrad Region drone defense
A working meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of the Leningrad Region, took place on January 26 at the Hermitage. The discussion focused on measures to protect the territory from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the retaliatory strikes by the Russian armed forces.
Opening the topic, Alexander Drozdenko stated: «I want to focus on your instruction on protecting the Leningrad Region from UAV attacks». According to him, 16 out of 17 facilities provided for in the plan have been built to date. The governor showed photographic materials depicting the erected towers and barracks.
«This is having an effect», Drozdenko stated, emphasizing that attempts at attacks from Ukraine continue. During the conversation, Vladimir Putin noted: «And we are being asked not to do this». The head of the region retorted: «This must be done, because it is very important».
The last drone attack on the Leningrad Region was recorded on January 6.
