Direct Contacts in Trilateral Ukraine Talks Revealed by UAE
Trilateral negotiations between delegations from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi took place in two stages. During the second round, the countries communicated for almost three hours. The UAE Foreign Ministry disclosed details of these discussions.
«Over two days in Abu Dhabi, unprecedented trilateral consultations were held between representatives of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts to promote a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict. The discussions took place in a constructive and positive atmosphere and included direct contact between representatives of Russia and Ukraine regarding unresolved elements of the U.S.-proposed framework for a peaceful settlement, as well as on confidence-building measures aimed at supporting progress towards a comprehensive agreement,» a representative of the UAE Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.
In the Emirates, they are confident that the conflict between countries cannot be resolved without dialogue, and progress is achieved through interaction.
«We will continue to support all efforts aimed at establishing peace in all crisis situations,» emphasized the UAE Foreign Ministry.
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called the meetings between the countries in Abu Dhabi «constructive.» He noted that the main focus during the discussions was on «possible parameters for ending the conflict.»
«I greatly appreciate that there is an understanding of the need for American monitoring and control over the process of ending the war and ensuring real security,» the Ukrainian leader wrote on his Telegram channel.
Also during the negotiations, representatives of the countries defined a list of issues for a possible next meeting, which is scheduled to take place as early as next week.
