The chairman of the social policy committee of the Primorye Krai Legislative Assembly, Igor Cheremis, who is set to go to the special military operation, has submitted documents to join the volunteer detachment BARS-33. This was reported to a VLADIVOSTOK1.RU correspondent by the parliamentarian himself.
«The decision was not easy for me, considering the serious situation at the front and in the front-line zone; it was discussed with my family for a long time and made with their support,» said Igor Cheremis.
More detailed information about the Primorye deputy«s contract was shared with the public by writer and military expert Alexei Sukonkin. According to his sources in volunteer districts, BARS-33 is being formed by one of the airborne troops units stationed in Leningrad Oblast. The unit is performing tasks on the Kherson direction as part of the »Dnipro« troop grouping.
The expert explained that, unlike the Primorye volunteer detachment «Tiger» (BARS-22), which operates on the South Donetsk direction and is in the zone of direct combat contact with the enemy, the Kherson direction has a different specificity. According to him, the «Dnipro» grouping occupies defensive positions, with the front line running along the eponymous river.
«Combat operations here are reduced to mutual use of drones and artillery in a zone 10–15 kilometers from the Dnieper. Offensive actions are not conducted due to the natural barrier,» noted Sukonkin, emphasizing that he shares information with subscribers «for understanding the general situation.»
Special attention in the discussion was drawn to the possible position that the deputy is applying for. According to the military expert, Igor Cheremis, who has the rank of senior lieutenant in the reserves, submitted documents for the position of traffic controller in a commandant«s platoon — a position that, as a rule, is not considered combat-related.
Igor Cheremis himself confirmed the information about the choice of unit, but noted that he does not know what position he will hold.
«Regarding the position, as a civilian, I do not have data that falls under the competence of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. That is all the comments for now,» the deputy explained to our journalist.
Earlier we reported that Igor Cheremis signed a contract to participate in the special military operation for a term of six months and will serve in Kherson Oblast. During his absence, the duties of the chairman of the social policy committee of the Primorye Krai Legislative Assembly have been temporarily assigned to Nikolai Alyoshin.
