Novosibirsk man escapes shopping center collapse, three injured
The shopping center collapsed instantly
A resident of Novosibirsk, German, reported how the building at 26 Naumova Street began to collapse. The incident occurred on January 21.
The man was in the grocery store «Yarche» when he heard a noise.
‘I was on the first floor. Suddenly everything rumbled, the facade began to collapse. I immediately ran out, but I saw that the second floor was already collapsed,’ German recalls.
In the grocery store, besides the man, there were about 15 other people. According to the Siberian, the Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) arrived at the scene five minutes later. The man knows nothing about any casualties.
‘There were people on the second floor. A salesperson from there managed to run out onto the staircase,’ added German.
The Novosibirsk city hall reported that two people were injured in the collapse. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), one person might be trapped under the rubble.
