Ministry of Labor Reports Altai Krai Minimum Wage for 2026
In 2026, in Altai Krai, the minimum wage for workers in the non-budget sector will rise to 28,500 rubles (approximately $314 at current rates). This was reported to NGS22.RU by the regional labor and employment department.
The department noted that from January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in Altai Krai (excluding payments for work in special climatic conditions and other compensations) is:
For workers in the budget sector: 27,093 rubles (about $298)
For workers in the non-budget sector of the economy: 28,475 rubles (about $313)
However, there are cases when wages can be below the minimum wage. This is possible with wage differentiation, which is regulated by labor legislation.
The reasons may be as follows:
If an employee works part-time or part-week, their salary will be proportionally lower.
In case of downtime due to the employer«s fault or reasons beyond the parties» control, the employee is paid a portion of their average salary, which may be below the minimum wage.
For example, when working part-time or under a civil law contract, where payment may be below the minimum wage if the workload does not correspond to full employment.
