In 2025, 15.5–16 thousand residents of Saratov Oblast completed professional retraining programs. This was announced on January 23 at a briefing by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Denis Davydov.
According to him, this allowed Saratov residents to become more productive and «improve career trajectories.» The official emphasized that the need for professional retraining is growing. They are available to citizens of pre-retirement age, women on maternity leave, participants of the special military operation and their family members, and others.
«We are trying to make programs more in demand. Last year there were 107 of them. We offered them through personnel centers,» said Davydov. All programs are divided into two large groups — technical and IT.
The minister emphasized that technical specialties are very popular. Within this pool of educational programs, Saratov residents were trained in skills for professions such as CNC machine operator, welder, fitter, electric welder, chemical equipment operator, and others.
«At the same time, we see a demand for IT specialists and try to follow this trend. We offer programs such as implementing neural networks in organizational work, programming languages, data protection, and a number of others,» added Denis Davydov.
He added that the ministry tries to maintain a balance by introducing retraining in in-demand and highly-paid areas. Within such retraining, Saratov residents acquire basic knowledge. However, even this is enough to find a job. Last year, only about 10% of graduates were unable to find employment.
