On January 30, the St. Petersburg State Traffic Inspectorate reported a case where a repeat offender of traffic rules was found through online publications. For his actions, he lost his car.

Employees monitoring social media discovered video materials with dangerous maneuvers on city streets. The star of the videos turned out to be a 26-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, who regularly boasted about violations.
The offender was held administratively liable under two articles of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses: for driving without an OSAGO (compulsory motor insurance) policy and for illegal modifications to the vehicle«s structure. The VAZ-2101 car was sent to a special parking lot to verify the authenticity of the VIN number.
“It seems that the owner of the «kopeyka» (a nickname for the VAZ-2101) won«t see his car anytime soon,” police noted. The traffic police reminded that performing drifts and similar maneuvers is only allowed on specially equipped sites.
