Tram Hits Pedestrian Near MVD Building in Volgograd

On Golubinskaya Street in Volgograd, near the building of the regional main investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), a tram hit a young woman. Eyewitnesses reported a serious traffic accident.

Due to the accident, tram routes No. 2, 5, 7, and 10 were temporarily halted. The dispatch office clarified that the incident is serious but did not specify when service would resume.

«Accident on the line. Once it»s documented, then traffic will be restored,« said the dispatch office.

In nearby institutions, according to journalists, they were not yet aware of the accident. However, they noted that last week, a traffic accident involving a car occurred at the same spot.

When contacting the department near which the emergency happened, the correspondent was redirected to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. There, they promised to clarify the circumstances of the incident later.

The regional health committee reported that the victim was taken to Hospital No. 25 for examination.

A week earlier, at the same section, a Ford Focus car collided with a tram while attempting to cross the tracks.
