Ten people evacuated from burning hangar in Telman

On the morning of January 21, a metal hangar used as a dormitory caught fire in the town of Telman. All residents were evacuated before the fire spread throughout the building.

Early in the morning on January 21, a fire broke out in a metal hangar on Krasnoborskaya Road in the town of Telman, Tosnensky District, Leningrad Region. Rescuers promptly evacuated ten people who were living in a dormitory set up inside.

According to the State Budgetary Institution «Lenoblpozhspas» (Leningrad Region Fire and Rescue Service), the fire alarm was received around five o«clock in the morning. The fire quickly spread throughout the entire building. To extinguish the fire, forces from the 111th, 131st, and 127th fire stations of the Kirov Unit, the 103rd unit of the Gatchina Unit, as well as firefighting services were deployed. They were assisted by rescuers from the Tosno Search and Rescue Unit.
As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Leningrad Region, about sixty specialists worked at the scene. They managed to localize the fire over an area of 1,700 square meters and completely extinguish the open flames. Currently, firefighters are dousing smoldering hotspots and clearing debris. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries.
