Snowfall Causes Mass Traffic Accidents in Yekaterinburg

Heavy snowfall that hit Sverdlovsk Oblast on January 31 has seriously complicated the road situation in Yekaterinburg.

Due to difficult weather conditions, numerous traffic accidents have occurred, and motorists are advised to avoid trips if possible.

In the morning, at the intersection of Malysheva and Bazhova streets, two cars collided, but according to the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD), there are no casualties.

Another incident was registered in the Ukus area.

A reader reported:
Near the «Ulitsa Proninoy» stop towards Khimmash, there is a serious accident involving three cars, with two ambulance teams and one fire brigade team on site.

On the Aramilsky Tract, a multi-kilometer traffic jam formed due to an accident. Emergency services are working on site, and traffic in the Koltsovo area is difficult in both directions.

On Tekhnicheskaya Street, there are no accidents yet, but there is a high risk of losing control.
From Globus to Sadovoy, I didn«t see a single road maintenance vehicle. They might just sprinkle salt so that in an hour it becomes an ice rink,laments local resident Alexander.

On the Tyumen Tract towards Yekaterinburg, a giant traffic jam has also accumulated due to an accident.
Many traffic police patrols and an ambulance passed by,said an eyewitness.
