Smoking Truck Extinguished on Serovsky Trakt

Traffic on Serovsky Trakt was temporarily blocked on Wednesday after reports of thick smoke on the road. According to eyewitnesses, firefighters who arrived at the scene cordoned off the area, leading to a traffic jam.

When traffic flow resumed, drivers saw a truck on the shoulder with no visible signs of open flame.
It«s not very clear what was burning. Or they just arrived in time,shared one of the motorists.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Sverdlovsk Region explained the cause of the incident.
The brake pads of the truck were smoldering. To cool them down, a fire hose was supplied from a tanker truck. Traffic was blocked to lay the main line,stated the department.
Nine EMERCOM employees worked on eliminating the consequences of the incident, using two units of special equipment.
