Siberian pensioner gets Gosuslugi death notice: why it occurred
A 62-year-old pensioner from Omsk contacted the prosecutor«s office. He said that he went to another city and there received a message from Gosuslugi about his death. Because of this, his bank cards and account on the site were blocked.
«This information was confirmed during his personal appeals to banking organizations, state agencies, and budgetary institutions. The reason for recognizing the citizen as deceased was violations in patient identification procedures committed by healthcare institutions,» explained the prosecutor«s office.
It turned out that the pensioner«s data was mistakenly entered into medical documents when an ambulance brought an unknown man to the hospital. Information about the Omsk resident also appeared in the primary medical examination.
«Based on the medical documents, the civil registry office carried out the state registration of the death of a living person,» clarified in the statement.
The prosecutor«s office submitted a representation to the medical organization and appealed to the court to legally challenge the pensioner»s «death» and change the documents. The court satisfied the demands, and the Omsk resident was also paid compensation for moral damages in the amount of 40 thousand rubles (about $444 at current rates).
