Residents of Krasnodar Hear Strong Explosion, Windows Shake
An explosion was heard by Krasnodar residents, followed by sightings of a fire.
Around 22:40, residents of Krasnodar heard a sound resembling a powerful explosion. It was followed by a strong shock wave; many reported that their windows shook and curtains billowed. The loudest sounds were in the Adygea, Yubileyny, and Festivalny microdistricts. No official information about the emergency has been received yet.
Immediately after the sound, some saw a fire. Here is what residents of the city and neighboring republic say:
It was very, very loud. The house shook directly. And the windows too. I thought they would break.
In Adygea, all high-rise districts heard and felt it.
Updated: The Krasnodar Unified Duty Dispatch Service has not received any reports of destruction or emergencies, according to the city«s MCU. The loud sound that people heard was called a »bang« by the authorities.
Later authorities stated that a UAV attack was repelled, but in Krasnodar there is no destruction. Damage was recorded in Novaya Adygea, with a fire affecting an apartment building and parked cars. What witnesses say—compiled in this article.
