Investigative authorities have disclosed a preliminary version of the death of a 12-year-old schoolboy in the Volgograd region. The child died while returning home after classes and attending a psychological training session. The previously suggested assumption that death was caused by a fall on ice and head injury has not been confirmed.
The tragic incident occurred on February 2 in the settlement of Petrov Val, Kamyshinsky district. A student of local school No. 56 felt unwell and lost consciousness immediately after leaving the school. «The children called the homeroom teacher and said that Seryozha was lying unconscious,» the school principal said. According to her, medics were called twice, but they could not save the child.
A source in the ambulance service reported that during the examination, no serious external injuries were found on the deceased«s body, in particular, no hematomas on the occipital part of the head. According to available information, the boy had complained of feeling unwell while still at school. «Perhaps if help had been provided earlier, he could have been saved,» the interlocutor noted.
Official confirmation of the preliminary version came from Natalia Rudnik, senior assistant to the head of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. She stated that death occurred due to health problems. «No hematomas were found on the head. It will take about 30 days to establish an accurate diagnosis,» the investigative representative explained.
It also became known that the father of the deceased child had previously died in the area of the special military operation. After the incident, against the backdrop of abnormal weather conditions, all schools in Petrov Val, as in a number of other districts, were switched to distance learning.
