Medical staff have provided an update on the condition of tourists injured in a collision with a heavy truck in the Khasansky District. Four out of seven people have already been discharged and are recovering at home, according to the Telegram channel of the Primorye Health Ministry.

Three patients remain hospitalized at the thousand-bed hospital in Vladivostok. One of them is still in intensive care — her condition is stable but serious. The second female patient was transferred from intensive care to the trauma department, and another victim to the neurosurgery department; his condition is stable and moderately severe.

A mass traffic accident involving a bus, a heavy truck, and at least four other vehicles occurred on January 22 at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the village of Barabash. Presumably, the King Lion bus was carrying tourists from China and collided with a FAW Jiefang car carrier on the 56th kilometer, driven by a Chinese citizen with six years of driving experience. Three people died.

Medical support was promptly organized for the victims; first, some of them were stabilized at the Khasan Central Hospital, and later transported to Vladivostok. Several people were immediately delivered to the thousand-bed hospital by disaster medicine helicopters.

On the bus, according to preliminary data, there were tour groups from different organizations, one of them being «Tour Center Berkut»; the company has not commented on the incident. The buses belong to the company «Primoavtotrans»; the deceased driver was from Slavyanka, where he was known as a responsible and kind person. Residents organized a collection in support of the man«s family.

The Chinese citizen driver of the heavy truck, preliminarily found guilty in the accident, was arrested and taken to the police department the next day; an investigation is currently underway, and the man has been in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) for a week now.
