A passenger car overturned on Kronsverskaya Embankment in St. Petersburg in the morning hours of January 21, causing serious traffic disruptions.

The overturned vehicle blocked traffic on Kronsverskaya Embankment, causing significant delays.

Drivers stuck in the jam advised others via communication systems to choose a different route. Messages included warnings: «Cannot pass towards Troitsky. The car is lying on its roof.» Drivers also added: «No passage. Completely impassable.»

Later, to ease the traffic flow, reversible lanes were organized on this section.

According to information from the service «Yandex», the overall traffic congestion level in St. Petersburg streets in the morning reached 5 points. This indicator was one point lower than the day before and one point below the usual value.

The highest traffic density was observed on several directions:

Kultura Avenue – Tikhoretsky Avenue towards the center (7 points);
Slavy Avenue – Narodnaya Street in the direction of Moskovsky Avenue (7 points);
Grazhdansky Avenue towards the center (7 points).
