Officer struck during traffic police chase in Primorsky District
A man attempted to evade a patrol, damaged another vehicle, and struck a traffic police officer before being detained in his own apartment.

On the morning of January 20, a traffic police patrol in Primorsky District, St. Petersburg, attempted to stop a Haval car. The driver, upon seeing the police, panicked, refused to comply with the stop order, and began fleeing through courtyards.

During the chase on Bogatyrsky Prospekt, building 34, the violator«s car hit a parked vehicle. A traffic police inspector fired several shots at the Haval»s wheels. When officers tried to approach the vehicle, the driver suddenly accelerated and struck one of the police officers. After that, he abandoned his car and attempted to hide in the entrance of a nearby building.
Police officers identified the man«s place of residence and detained him in his apartment. The driver was a 38-year-old local resident. According to preliminary information, he was under the influence of drugs but refused to undergo a medical examination. Previously, this driver had been deprived of his driving license for drunk driving.
The violator was taken to the police department. A criminal case has been initiated against him for using violence against a government representative, and several administrative protocols have been drawn up.
