Nizhnekamsk janitor to receive 500,000 rubles after knife attack

Alsou Anasova, a janitor at Nizhnekamsk Lyceum No. 37 who was attacked by a seventh-grader with a knife, will receive 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,000 at current rates). Mayor Radmir Belyaev announced this at a business Monday meeting.

«I want to note that thanks to Alsou Anasova, the attacker»s attention was diverted, which undoubtedly saved from more serious consequences. We have made a decision to allocate material encouragement in the amount of 500,000 rubles,« the head said.

Belyaev stated that after what happened, it is necessary to build a system of maximum protection for children, and noted that a special program is needed, the goal of which is to hear each other and develop mechanisms for forming a friendly environment in every school.

«If during the check the facts of bullying are confirmed, we will not limit ourselves to disciplinary measures. Under my personal control, a city-wide anti-bullying program will be developed — for this, I propose to systematically organize open round tables with the invitation of students, teachers, and parents,» he said.

The pilot site for these programs will be school No. 37, and then they will be implemented in all educational institutions of the city.

Recall that a 13-year-old teenager attacked Anasova with a knife; she underwent surgery and received stitches. The boy was detained by Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) and found with a knife, mask, and tactical gloves. A criminal case has been initiated for attempted murder and negligence. The schoolboy may be sent to a special school, as he has not reached the age of criminal responsibility.

A classmate described the teenager as strange and said that he was interested in the topic of terrorism. No one bullied the boy at school. It turned out that two days before the attack, the boy«s close friend died.
