Investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee (SKR) have completed the investigation into a criminal case concerning the deaths of three young boys in a fire at a private house in the village of Chikichey, Sretensky District, Zabaykalsky Krai — their 27-year-old mother will stand trial on charges of negligent homicide of two or more persons. This was reported on 4 February on the Telegram channel «Sledkom75».
A two-apartment house in the village caught fire on 19 October. A four-year-old and a two-year-old child died at the scene, and a one-year-old infant died on the way to the central district hospital. Everything known about the tragedy was collected in one article.
According to the investigation, on 19 October 2025 at about 15:45, in the village of Chikichey, the accused left home, leaving her three sons unattended. Returning an hour later, the woman discovered a fire in the house and managed to carry two boys out of the flames, one of whom was already showing no signs of life. She drove to the hospital with her one-year-old son, but the child died en route. During firefighting, rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) found the body of the third child.
«Investigators have collected the necessary evidence base. The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and subsequent submission to court. Earlier, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the progress of the investigation of this criminal case,» the message says.
